This role will lead and deliver core data governance competencies including data mapping, modelling and delivery and a central business data glossary. They will steer development of an area of data governance (e.g. Master Data Management or Meta Data Management & Search or Data Quality) with the wider data governance team implementing and orchestrating JLR data governance.
As one of the first members of the Data Office they also will be able to influence and shape JLR Data Strategy and will work closely with their peers in Data Governance and Data Tooling and Enablement teams in the Data Office.
Data Strategy and Data Governance are fast evolving topics. We're not looking for someone with all the answers on these topics. No one has that. We're looking to assemble a diverse team with deep experience in data that will shape data at JLR and who are keen to keep learning and adapting as the technologies in this area continue to evolve.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You'll need previous experience of Data Governance and mapping data sets and producing remediation plans to improve data quality. Previous experience and knowledge of various data management tools and data platforms
You'll need knowledge of EDW architecture, ETL processes and data modelling.
An excellent level of ability to structure, analyse/ interpret data. A high level of IT literacy and desire to continue to learn new data tools and skills. A sound knowledge of supporting end-to-end business processes and underlying data. A proven track record of translating business requirements and needs into prioritised data requirements.
