A strategy that is designed to create a new benchmark in environmental, societal and community impact for a luxury business.Jaguar and Land Rover will offer pure electric power, nameplate by nameplate, by 2030.It is our aim is to achieve net zero carbon emissions across our supply chain, products and operations by 2039.DescriptionThe Principal Data Architect will be responsible for:Technical leadership of data architecture and engineering Lead the adoption and continuous improvement of a data-driven practices across the wider Jaguar Land Rover organisation, working with technical and non-technical business stakeholdersOwnership and definition of the detailed data architecture for a variety of cloud projects deployed globally including alignment with corporate and regulatory requirementsConstant and active engagagement with Development and SRE teams to build and automate good data practices into our applications and cloud platformContinuously improve yourself and the wider team through learning and self-development, communities of practice and brown bag sessionsLeadership role within the DDC contributing to ongoing strategy and improvement of ways of workingLine management of Software Engineers (at a later point)ProfileWe're looking for a leader who's worked in a DevSecOps culture, either from a Security, Software Engineering or Ops background, so we're keen to talk to people with:Data architecture design and deliveryA hands-on data focussed engineering role within Development or Ops teamsPrevious exposure working in a leadership role influencing change in a large organisation Beyond that, the following would be great as well. We don't expect people to know everything, so even if you're only familiar with a couple of these then we'd love to hear from you:Translating business requirements into strategic modern technical data solutions including models, streams, integrations, transformations, databases and warehousesDeep technical knowledge of enterprise-grade data solutions and technologies for cloud infrastructure and applicationsWrangling data from a variety of disparate sources across a large enterprise organisationDefining data architecture frameworks, standards and principlesWorked with relational database technologies such as MySQL or similarWorked with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDBKnowledge of data within event-driven microservice architectures, APIs and message queuesBuilt and managed automated CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying data changesLeading and managing teams of Engineers at varying levelsBackground in data or systems engineeringJob OfferThis is a great opportunity to "get in early" at Jaguar Land Rovers new Digital Hub based in Manchester, As well as the competitive salary, there is also a company car, excellent benefits and bonus on offer.
