New opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a well established electronics design company in Gloucestershire. Due to expanding customer base our client now needs a Senior Engineer with a good mix of Embedded Software and hardware design skills. I am looking for that unusual candidate who can offer both Embedded Software and hardware expertise and is keen to do both!. Suitable applicants need to be well educated with at least a BEng or BSc (Hons) in electronics or physics and at least 5 -10 years’ experience in developing electronics, from the initial concept stages through to mass production. You should have strong low level embedded C development expertise combined with analogue and digital electronics design skills plus some of the following: Designing electronics for low-power battery operated environments.Designing switch mode power supplies.Designing electronics to control transducers such as AC/DC motors and resistive Heating elements.Designing electronics to measure transducers such as thermistors and Hall effect sensors.Designing electronics and writing firmware for serial interfaces including: I2C, SPI, USB and UARTs (RS232, RS485).IoT interface and firmware development including: WiFi, Ethernet and Bluetooth.Control system firmware development including PID control loops and filtering.Experience of EMC testing and approvals process.Anyone with design consultancy expertise or who has developed electronics for consumer, security or industrial markets or who has industry knowledge related to heating products or environmental systems would be desirable. This is the ideal position for someone looking for a varied workload and excited by different design challenges in various markets. Very friendly workplace in a rural setting. Plenty of flexibility too - you can work a 4 day week and you can also work remotely for some of the time. Salary of £50k- £60k!!!
