UKHO offers an excellent opportunity for a proven Systems Administrator to further advance their expertise providing expert level 3rd line technical advice and support to all UKHO systems.

About the role

Working with the Head of Technical Systems and Head of Technical Operations, you will manage the delivery of Technical Services to internal UKHO customers by supporting the UKHO infrastructure; servers, systems, communications, and services in a 3rd line role.  Additionally, you will manage and co-ordinate their activities within the team, promoting best practice and ensuring that service targets are achieved.

Please note you will be part of a team providing 24/7 cover through an on-call rota and will be required to provide on-call cover outside normal working hours in accordance with the rota.

The successful candidate will have expert technical experience of a wide variety of server, storage, and networking technologies at a 3rd line support level, combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions. Your technical knowledge and experience will include Microsoft Windows Servers 2016, 2019, Microsoft Hyper-V and other server and infrastructure technologies in a large enterprise environment as well as Microsoft Azure cloud technologies both IaaS and PaaS concepts and configuration.
