So will you.  The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. To carry out this hugely important role, our digital information and systems need to be appropriately protected. As the ONR Cyber Security Manager, you'll help keep them safe - and develop our function in the process. The role You'll join us on the front line, delivering operational cyber security capabilities for ONR. The main point of contact for cyber security issues across the organisation, you'll have a central role within a small but growing team. Here, you'll take ownership of cyber incidents, lead day to day cyber operations and look to improve our capabilities, shaping the function's progress. With a mix of strategic and tactical thinking required, you'll enjoy a varied role where you'll collaborate widely and make a crucial difference.  The person A dedicated professional, you'll bring a degree in Cyber Security (or similar). You'll also have relevant security accreditations, such as CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CCSP, CSSLP (or equivalent). Backing up these qualifications, you'll have proven hands-on experience that inspires trust in your expertise. Ideally, you've worked with HMG security policies and NCSC security guidance with a public sector organisation, (although a private sector background is welcome with an awareness of the HMG and NCSC requirements). What's important is the ability to manage the operational security of cloud-based platforms such as O365, Azure, AWS, and tackle cyber threats through modern cloud architectural techniques. With leadership and teamwork also key, strong communication skills are essential.   The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £53,543 - £61,921 plus a recruitment allowance of £8,500 per year. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
