As a Talend Developer, you've amassed a great deal of experience of data integration and ETL tooling. You've proven your flair for creating and maintaining ETL processes that meet organisational needs. You've got to grips with ‘big data' and the intricacies and potential of Talend's Cloud Data Management platform. Now put all those skills to work where they can really make a difference to people in need and to society as a whole - whilst also improving your own quality of life. About Shelter
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve. At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation. About the role As a home-based Talend Developer, you'll be developing and supporting all the new and existing campaigns that feed our Dynamics 365 CRM system - and maintaining and extending our modern data warehouse hosted on Microsoft Azure. Your challenge will be to develop these ETL processes using the Talend Cloud Data Management platform to ensure that our CRM and analytics platforms are continuously fed with high quality data. We'll also rely on you to ensure business requirements for new data feeds, or changes to existing ones, are fully understood and properly translated into efficient and effective technical solutions that are tested and documented prior to deployment. In addition, you will be expected to continuously expand the capabilities of the Talend platform - in a role that's critical to business success. We're happy to talk about flexible working and personal growth, and we promote a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based purely on merit. About you You'll probably welcome this opportunity to work flexible hours Monday-Friday, predominantly from home, and to bring together all your technical expertise in order to benefit a charity that has a clear social purpose. With your experience of developing and maintaining Talend campaigns, you're in a unique position to help us deliver our mission by building and developing a culture of lifecycle management across our broader application landscape. You're adept at designing and developing ETL mappings, transformations, business rules and workflows, as well as at scheduling and deploying the resulting integration solutions. You'll have experience in performance tuning ETL processes, plus strong Java, SQL and ETL knowledge - and preferably an understanding of Data Vault data modelling techniques. It would be an advantage to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI and Adobe Campaigns Standard, although these are not essential. Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, an attractive pension scheme and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme. Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
