Job Title: Construction Environment ManagerLocation: Can be based in any of their UK offices Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Job Type: Full Time, PermanentMabbett is a consultancy offering safety, environment and engineering services since 1996. We are seeking to recruit a Construction Environment Manager to lead and manage our Construction Environment Team within our Planning and Development Group, based at our Glasgow, Rosyth or Inverness offices. Although we are supporting remote working, an ability and willingness to travel to sites is a requirement of this role.About the roleOur typical projects include Environmental Clerk of Works (ECoW), Environmental Manager, ecological support, management of environmental sub-contractors, development of construction environmental management plans (CEMPs), EIA and regulator liaison. Experience of overseeing environmental management of large infrastructure projects is essential.The successful candidate will work in a client-facing role with lead responsibilities including development of client relationship, defining scopes of work, responding to tenders, management of contract delivery, coaching of staff and delivery of the team's annual business plan. Our clients range from small developers to large construction and utilities companies; projects range from short-term interventions to multi-year contracts.Core technical project areas include:Construction environmental and ecological managementManagement of environmental and ecological sub-contractorsEnvironmental impact assessment, planning and developmentEnvironmental management plan developmentEnvironmental permit applications and monitoring / managementAdditional technical project areas include:Biodiversity net gainCircular economy and resource efficiencyEnvironmental legal compliance and permittingNet zero / carbon reduction in constructionContaminated landAbout you:EducationHonours or Master's Degree in environmental management, environmental studies, ecology or a related subject.Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIEEM / IEMA and/or be Chartered.CSCS card holderExperience and competence in:Leading a team of environmental consultants in the construction sector.Working and managing Environmental Manager or ECoW on construction sitesHandling and management of ecological survey data to develop client solutionsData analysis, business planning and business development activitiesReview of ecological technical documentation such as Habitat Management Plans, Monitoring Plans, CEMPs or EIA chaptersCommunicating successfully with individuals at all levelsDevelopment and delivery of construction environment / ecological training courses.Professional services delivery and technical salesSkills:Construction site operations and environmental managementEcological project management from proposal stage to project completionOrganised, logical and structured; attention to detailCommunication and training delivery skillsBusiness developmentCreative thinking and ability to identify and drive new business opportunities and projectsProficient in Microsoft Office Professional software packagesLanguage skills (English minimum)The successful candidate will work within a supportive, friendly and driven team, playing a key role in delivering Team Mabbett targets.
