|Recruiter:||Office for Nuclear Regulation|

|Salary Notes:||£53,543 - £61,921 plus a London weighting allowance if applicable|
New IT directorate.
Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. In this newly created role, you'll drive the delivery and adoption of a new testing governance framework across ONR. With the freedom to build a team and define our approach, you can make this role your own.
Joining a newly formed IT directorate, you'll come to ONR at an exciting time. As our IT Test Manager, you'll mastermind our overall testing strategy and define the testing ethos. You'll ensure that all technology changes at ONR are subject to rigorous testing, and that we meet the highest standards of test approach and methodology. Your work will be integral to the development lifecycle and you'll be a key point of contact for test and assurance matters. That means you'll be collaborating across the wider IT Directorate and beyond, and taking the lead in a critical area. As you shape testing ONR-wide, you'll also shape a capable Testing team.
With proven experience in IT testing, you'll have confidence in your skills. Ideally, you've worked in the public sector, implementing test strategies, managing portfolios of work and leading testing teams. Whatever your background, you'll be used to continuous business engagement and signing off test frameworks. With International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certified Tester - Foundation level (or equivalent), you'll have a recognised qualification to back up your expertise. Crucially, you'll also have the communication skills to connect with diverse stakeholders and escalate and articulate risks. With clear customer focus too, you'll be an asset to our team.
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £53,543 - £61,921 plus a London weighting allowance if applicable. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
ONR is a Public Corporation with a Mission to provide efficient and effective regulation of the nuclear industry, holding it to account on behalf of the public. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds with specialist inspectors to deliver our core business including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And together they're involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites, communicating our decisions, training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider international nuclear community
