SAS Engineer (Data Management)

Permanent / Full Time

Location: London OR Telford based (home for now)

£55k-£70k base + generous benefits package (Multiple roles available at various levels)

Willing to undergo BPSS clearance

As a trusted, approved and preferred recruitment partner to this prestigious organisation, we have been asked to assist in the recruitment of a SAS Software Engineer to join their leading innovative data management team. This role is a unique chance to design, development, testing and support of data and analytics software solutions. You will be working with the Agile software delivery team including software architects and fellow software engineers. You will also be supported by product managers, scrum masters and solutions architects. With additional client and key stakeholder interaction as required.

You will also contribute to first-class end-to-end solutions in your assignments. You will play an active role in defining their practices, standards and ways of working, and apply them to your role. Be open to working across organisation and team boundaries to bring the best their customers.

We are interested in seeing candidates with experience in any of the SAS modules listed below:

* Experience as a software engineer delivering within large scale and complex projects.

* Ability to operate at all stages of the software engineering lifecycle.

* Experience of Agile Scrum based delivery.

* Personal drive, enthusiasm, willingness to learn.

* Excellent communications skills.

* 3+ years of production experience in leading and designing data management solutions (data warehousing, data marts, data stores), facilitating reporting, data analytics and insights.

* Technical expertise in several of our key technologies: SAS Data Integration Studio, Data Flux/Data Management Studio, SAS Programming, CAS Programming, DS2 Programming, RTENG, SAS Data Preparation Studio, SAS Data Explorer, Scheduling (Control-M, Platform LSF, Others), Oracle, Postgres, Hadoop, other DB's.

* Experience of working on SAS 9 (both Grid and non-Grid) and Viya environments, hosted specifically on Lunix/Unix Operations Systems.

* Awareness of Cloud environments, AWS, Azure or Google.

* Awareness of Data Virtualisation solutions.

* SAS Certified Data Integration Developer

You will work as part of an Agile software delivery team; typically delivering within an Agile Scrum framework.

You will work on the full range of software engineering and solutions development activity covering requirements gathering and analysis, solutions design, software coding and development, testing, implementation and operational support.

You will contribute to the software engineering communities by providing your ideas for innovation and process improvement and coaching and mentoring other team members.
