An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join their team and take the lead in the evolution of their technical services. This role will ideally be based at their Headquarters in Westminster but is also available based in Sheffield.

The Role

As the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead their IT services from a strategic and management perspective.

Taking a customer focused and technical excellence approach, you will ensure their IT services continue to be improved and delivered to a complex range of stakeholders. You will design and implement an effective strategy, as well as planning and implementing processes that ensure they follow the latest industry best practice for IT.

Providing line management to the IT Operations Manager and the IT Scrum Master, you will oversee a function of around 14 team members across the two areas. You will take the lead in developing a culture of professional excellence and customer service where new and improved working methods are embraced and knowledge and skills are shared.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will:

- Develop and maintain an IT strategy and roadmap and implement long-term strategic technical goals and short-term tactical plans
- Governance, security, risk and compliance including IT risk management, risk mitigation and contingency planning are in place
- Manage the preparation of the annual IT budget and any new budgetary additions
- Ensure that the IT service achieve performance and availability targets and standards are delivered
- Develop, maintain, and review performance management systems
- Manage and prioritise the work's workload and review the staffing structure to support this
- Lead, motivate and develop the IT team, and ensure a comprehensive programme of staff development is in place
- Lead in managing supplier and contractor relationships

About You

To be considered as Chief Technology Officer, you will need:

- Experience of working at a senior management level in IT, managing capital and revenue budgets
- Experience of achieving organisational strategic goals by delivering IT infrastructure or systems
- Experience of security management and applying security standards, e.g., Cyber Essentials, throughout an organisation
- Experience managing a portfolio of projects within an IT programme
- Experience performing a key role in the management of service continuity
- Knowledge of Microsoft OS, application and Office 365 management and Cloud Services
- Knowledge of Agile or PRINCE2 project methodologies.
- Excellent leadership skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to see the big picture
- A strong focus on customer service and customer experience
- Outstanding problem-solving skills coupled with commercial acumen, intellectual curiosity and a desire to find better ways of achieving goals
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with key supplier contracts.
- A degree in IT or at least five years' senior IT experience
