We are committed to being supportive in everything we do: In our work In our communications To our environment To each other To ourselves About the Job We are undergoing a transformation of our IT organisation to improve the quality and capacity of our services and are seeking an energetic and passionate Assistant Director of Change & Demand to intro, oversee and lead a range of methods of delivering IT change and adoption focussed on benefits and outcomes to directly support our circa 7000 staff and our 630.000+ residents and businesses in two vibrant London boroughs. As part of the newly established Technology & Innovation leadership team, this role will guide the department through change and transformation. Leading our diverse teams to a new operating model, the role will have full autonomy to create a robust change and delivery function, serving both of our partner councils. Acting as a ‘Change Agent', this role is essential in guiding the strategic portfolio of programmes and projects, working collaboratively with key stakeholders, and the oneSource Management Team. Driving the planning and strategy development within the change area, the Assistant Director will gain the opportunity to shape the future of the service; identifying opportunities for cross-council working and the development of continuous improvement initiatives, whilst reviewing current ways of working to streamline processes and deliver cost saving solutions. Ultimately this role takes responsibility for drawing on resources from a wide-range of multi-disciplinary teams, encouraging innovation to develop change programmes and strategies. Amidst the current situation, this role is pivotal to building on the digital response to the Covid-19 crisis, ensuring our technology systems meet the needs and demands of our residents, colleagues and partners. About You We are looking for a strong leader with proven experience leading a team of project, programme and adoption resources to plan and implement long term, sustainable change plans. You will be able to provide demonstrable examples of turning policy and strategy into positive projects of change, in addition to empowering and facilitating the design and delivery of service improvements. Leading change and innovation across a broad range of services in a complex environment, you will have a solid background within change management, and the expertise to drive major reforms and transformation programmes, that change how organisation's fundamentally work in accordance with best practice methodologies. Delivering the positive impact of change initiatives, you must be able to evidence the use of qualitative and qualitative data to measure the performance of services, devising appropriate development strategies either in a public or private sector environment.
