Job Description

A key area of our transformation journey is our investment in removing the mundane and repetitive tasks colleagues undertake, replacing them with Robotic Process Automation (RPA). We're building one of the largest robotic workforces in the country - enabling colleagues to reinvest their time into more substantial work for our business and customers.

Our RPA 'Centre of Excellence' team sits within the Intelligent Automation area. They're a team of intelligent automation specialists who safeguard and support the delivery of RPA initiatives for an amazingly diverse variety of business areas.

We're seeking the following skills and attributes:

RPA Technologies

If you're somebody who wants to lead and work with other amazing colleagues to undertake "SRE" and Organisational Change activities, with the flexibility to train to achieve a deep understanding of the underlying RPA technologies with the overall goal of improving the service offered to customers of the RPA estate, then we'd like to talk to you.

IT Infrastructure

You'll have multi-year knowledge and experience of working with the following:

Windows Server and Client Infrastructure

SQL Database Server

Elastic Stack (ELK)

Large Scale Data Concepts

DevOps Principles and Tooling specifically including:

Chef scripting

Jenkins

Github.

OCR software with Abbyy preferred.

In addition, it would be desirable for you to have knowledge of:

Load Balancing (F5)

Xen App / Desktop Visualization

Activities will include:

Creation of future RPA infrastructure designs to cater for increasing capacity and performance requirements, ensuring alignment with the LBG cloud strategy.

Creation of Chef scripts to automate client and server deployment, configuration and basic administration,

Supervising VDI /Server infrastructure and system logs, allowing basic diagnostic and configuration of the Windows devices, including Windows Firewalls and IIS.

Analysis of the SQL Database infrastructure which may require the creation of Transact SQL, Batch and PowerShell scripts

Lead an SRE team in the investigation of incidents and underlying root causes

Use of the Elastic stack to ingest large amount of log data, by creating data transform and load scripts as well as creating appropriate dashboards to display the data.

Data analysis and discovery to provide insight into system operation and efficiency.

An opportunity to take part in RPA+ experimentation.

Set up and maintenance of standard Dev Ops tools.

Behaviours:

Highly eloquent, confident at communicating adeptly at all levels across a huge business and influencing appropriately as you coach, advise and consult in the RPA space.

The ability to challenge where needed, and respond positively to challenge from others.

Pro-actively take ownership of technical aspects of the RPA platform, leading and working with others in the technical team to continuously improve the RPA service offering to our customers.

Experience of integrating RPA with other technologies used within the Intelligent Automation lab, such as Virtual Assistants and Machine Learning.

Travel will occasionally be required within the UK to locations around the country and you may get opportunities to travel internationally!
