We are looking for a Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer with a strong Microsoft Windows Server based background, to provide direct technical implementation and architectural planning support across a number Azure cloud projects.

One of the major/pivotal projects in this space is the Cloud Migration project, which is looking to migrate up to 1500 Windows and Linux servers to Microsoft Azure by November 2021.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

*Roll out and support of Azure Migrate across physical and virtual estate.

*Identification of server / server move / application groups for Azure migration.

*Readiness and remediation of servers and applications ready for Azure hosting.

*Planning and delivery of pre and post migration system and technical testing.

*Post migration server and application support with eventual handover to BAU.

*Optimising Azure server workloads for security, cost, and operational support.

*Automation of Azure server administration and key management tasks.

*Implement ITOM practice for images, updates, event management, desired state, etc.

*Deliver comprehensive Azure BCDR and resilience against business needs and budgets.

*Ownership of backlog, risk and rectification tasks related to Azure platform in general.

*Supporting the Design and implementation of general Azure based projects.

*Supporting Azure DevOps, DevTest labs, CI/CD and Infrastructure as code project initiatives.

*Support Azure architects in continuous improvement of IaaS and Azure platform designs.

*Supporting architect and PM in managing 3rd party projects.

*Ensuring security is at the heart of everything we do with the Azure cloud services.

*Coaching and mentoring BAU operational teams to take over long term operations.

*Building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues across IT, internal and external customers and suppliers in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of solutions

Skills and Experience (* = essential)

*Azure Administrator Associate certification (AZ-100 and AZ-101) or equivalent.

*Azure Solutions Architect certification (AZ-300 and AZ-301) or equivalent.

*Azure DevOps certification (AZ-400) or equivalent.

**Experience of managing large scale Azure infrastructure over a sustained period of time.

*Strong experience of IaaS management and optimisation on Azure.

*Strong experience of PaaS web services on Azure - App services, ASE's, API, APIMs, etc.

*Strong experience of storage services on Azure - blob, File, Data Lake, warehousing, CDN.

*Strong experience of supporting Azure DevOps / GIT / infrastructure-as-code services.

**Strong experience of Azure ITOM - patching, image management, BCDR, monitoring, etc.

*Comfortable writing documentation - proposals, change requests, manuals, standards, etc.

*Comfortable communicating, mentoring and upskilling existing operations teams.

**Played a lead role in a large scale server and/or storage migration project to Azure.

**Strong experience of windows server management across large and complex estates.

**Strong experience of scripting and automation with PowerShell and Kusto Query.

*Strong experience of Hyper-V and VMware administration and advanced operations.

**Experience of SQL Server Migration with PaaS transformation

*Experience of Hybrid NAS Services and Cloud Archiving (ideally NetApp)

*Exposure to Agile and DevOps projects and processes

*Confident undertaking detailed assessments, then defining and developing appropriate technical solutions that fulfil complex and diverse stakeholder requirements.
