Key Responsibilities: 

To manage the maintenance, development and stability of all IT infrastructures based systems and services required by KMUK (Kia Motors UK), Bolton (Kia own dealership) and KMIe (Kia Motors Ireland) and to help ensure their availability across all sites as and when required by the business.

Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements.

To ensure the availability and development of IT infrastructure systems and services across all KMUK/KMIe sites and liaise with key users of these systems.

To ensure compliance with Kia Motor Corporation security policies through robust IT architecture with strong resilience across all areas of the network.

To help define standard working practices to ensure that agreed procedures are implemented by users of IT infrastructure and services in order to facilitate appropriate usage.

To install, maintain and support hardware, operating systems, utilities and other specialised tools that represent KMUK/KMIe's IT infrastructure environment.

Administration, Patching and monitoring of the servers & storage environments to identify and act on issues before they become problems.

To plan the maintenance of IT infrastructure systems and to install new releases of hardware, software and systemware during planned periods of "downtime".

To investigate and implement new technologies and to create technical documentation for the same.

To manage the reporting and stability of KMUK telephone systems, including the continual enhancements to match growing customer service requirements.

To support the Head of IT in any projects as and when required.

To manage key supplier relationships e.g. Softcat, Vodafone ensuring best possible service at the most advantageous financial benefit.

To ensure appropriate security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained.

Responsible for the management and operation of the technical infrastructure - IT Networking, Compute, Storage, etc.

Management of Backups and DR systems.

Person Specification:

Education

Educated to degree or equivalent level.

Experience

At least 3-5 years of experience in an Infrastructure role.

Skills

Good Knowledge of Active Directory/Group Policy/DHCP

Experience with WSUS/WDS

Experience with Server hardware, Networking and Citrix

Cisco Switches, Routers, firewalls and IP Telephony

Experience of SANs, Backup Systems, DR

Security (endpoint and server security, proxies, anti-ransomware, etc)

Microsoft certifications

Familiarity with ITIL best practices and the concepts of Configuration Management

Good understanding of VMWare / Hyper-V

Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Good documentation and time management skills

Must be able to deal direct with clients in a friendly and confident manner

Full clean driving licence

Able to travel to any of our office sites when required
