Full stack engineer in angel stage start-up (remote) If you have an entrepreneurial streak, wanting to be somewhere you can make a real difference, willing to take a (measured) risk and possibly get fantastic stock reward, interested in retail / eCommerce, and with the engineering experience we are seeking, then you should reach out to me by applying for this postion. Cloudshelf was set up by a highly experienced team in retail tech - it is an early stage, angel funded start-up, bringing the power of eCommerce in-store for local and independent retailers.  We are passionate about saving independent and scale-up retailers on the high streets.  We help them beat the on-line only players by combining their local expertise with shopper choice and ease of purchase.  Our proof-of-concept solution is going live in the coming weeks, after which we will be on a mission to raise our next round of seed funding.
Our solution: Cloudshelf Cloudshelf is a platform that connects into Shopify, and soon other eCommerce platforms, to automatically create an outstanding in-store experience that shoppers can use to select products that they could not necessarily find, or sales associates can use to help drive shopper choice.  It combines smart data analysis, beautiful user experience, real world knowledge of remote physical devices and a focus on results. What makes this role exciting You will be a founding member of the engineering team, initially working with our interim CTO, 2 engineering colleagues and a UX designer.  You will be working as a unit to iteratively deliver a groundbreaking experience for bringing the advantages of an online experience into physical retail stores.  You will initially be building on the Shopify platform, and then expanding to other eComm solutions such as Woo, Wix and Magento.  The code you are writing will become the foundation of years of activity and will be used by 10s of thousands of businesses.  So while you need to be fast and efficient, there is no room for quick hacks and approximate work-arounds - you need to be confident you are coding to a quality that will withstand time and allow for a growing team to work off this code base.  What you do really well Must have: NestJS & React & GraphQL & Typescript Strong knowledge of Frontend/SPA (Single Page Application) development with React (functional components, hooks, dependency injection, etc.). Strong knowledge of NodeJS backend development with NestJS, GraphQL, Postgres Typescript Strong Object Oriented Programming knowledge (SOLID, DI, Domain-Driven Design) Knowledge of DevOps is a strong plus, including deployment pipelines, CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes What will make you thrive at Cloudshelf Good communicator also with product and other non-technical teams Self-starting, entrepreneurial, adaptable Genuine team player, you derive energy from working in a team Happy to operate in a full remote work environment (at least until we get next round of funding) Interested in high streets and their impact on communities, retail and eCommerce. What we will bring you  An adventure with potential.  We can make up in vision, strategy, knowhow and passion what we can't yet provide in comfort and security.  We're still too young to claim we have well formulated values and culture (you will help shape them), but we already agree that we have some rallying cries around : Simplify - focus our solution on what matters, remove the rest so that we can genuinely make the best bits outstanding.  Aligns with Lotus racing cars founding philosophy: "simplify, then add lightness".  Care - about others.  Only hand them work of the very best quality; care about our impact, look out for those around us. Dare - go beyond your comfort zone, even if it means risking mistakes.  Reach for the outstanding. Learn - always.  Make mistakes, but not twice.  Find ways of doing things better, or faster, or less painful, or making them better.  Get pleasure from feeling you are growing. Wow - amaze customers, friends, colleagues by the quality of our work and the results it provides. Our salary will keep you in good kip, and though it will not the highest you can get while we are still in bootstrapping mode, our stock offering could be a game changer.  As we get further funding, we will be offering healthcare and pension. We are fully remote for now, working on UK timezone.  We have no plans to ever become an office based team, but we will be re-investing what we save in office space in creating ‘pods' for exchanging, in training and  in social events.  If you prefer to work in a WeWork type workspace, we can arrange for that too. I look forward to hearing from you,
