DevOps Engineer Birmingham £75k
DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes AWS R&D). Would you like to work on complex software systems within the clean energy space, utilise the latest technologies and take a lead role whilst remaining hands-on?
The company works with stakeholders across the energy sector (consumers, industry, academia and government) to identify innovation priorities, gaps in the market and overcome barriers to accelerating the decarbonisation of the energy system at the lowest cost.
As a DevOps Engineer you will focus on evolving the existing DevOps solutions to support ongoing project development activities based around a Jenkins CI pipeline and POC / implementation of a multi-region cloud platform (AWS) monitoring solution. You'll provide technical leadership to a small team; partner with the software architecture and development teams to identify infrastructure requirements, design solutions and deploy to the Cloud.
There's currently a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home; in time you'll be joining a friendly, relaxed team based in Central Birmingham (10 minute walk from 3 mainline stations), with continued flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week.
Requirements:
You have DevOps experience and a strong knowledge of Kubernetes (CKA certification would be great)
You have a strong knowledge of AWS
You have experience with Continuous Delivery pipelines and integrating automated test tools with a CI pipeline e.g. Cucumber, Postman, SoapUI
You have a good working knowledge of Linux OS
Experience with any of the following would be an advantage (but not essential): Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, Spark, Kafka
You're collaborative with strong communication skills, happy to provide mentoring to more junior team members
As a DevOps Engineer you will earn a competitive salary (to £75k) plus benefits.
