The opportunity - OverviewThe newly created Workplace technology division within SPW is responsible for developing an effective, employee-led, technology adoption and engagement strategy; delivering business platform change, upgrades and ensuring supportability of those technology platforms. The change and release manager plans and rolls out software, and designs and carries out procedures for the distribution and installation of changes to systems and services across Business Operations, Finance, HR, Risk, Communications and ACD Investment Technology. This role will be responsible for ensuring adequate risk assessment and scheduling of technical changes and releases across the workplace technologies, such as Workday Finance, Workday HR, our ERM system, Engage Intranet and associated technologies such AlphaTax and ActivPayroll. They will own the configuration management of our software and the access, security, configuration of change activities and release procedures. Responsibilities - SynopsisA change and release manager makes sure that technical changes to IT services are adequately assessed for impact, prioritised, scheduled, authorised and implemented, in line with processes and using appropriate tools. At this level, you will:provide an escalation pointmake decisions for all technical changescoordinate releases and interdependenciesundertake analysis after release and set the plan for upcoming changesliaise with technical teams and product and programme managers Essential SkillsAsset and configuration management. You can maintain secure configuration and accurate information, controlling IT assets in one or more significant areas, and verifying location and state of assets.Availability and capacity management. You know about availability and capacity management processes.Change management. You can analyse and assess impact, and develop and document change requests. You can implement changes based on requests for change. (Relevant skill level: working)Community collaboration. You can contribute to the work of others while having the ability to motivate and empower teams. You know how to create the right environment for teams to work in and can facilitate the best team make-up depending on the situation. You can recognise and deal with issues.Continual service improvement. You know about developing process efficiency and common ways in which processes are optimised. You can support specific activities to improve development processes. You can spot or identify obvious deficiencies.Continuity management. You know about the IT standard continuity management processes and procedures.Incident management. You can identify and register incidents, gathering the required information and allocating it to the appropriate channel.Ownership and initiative. You know about problem resolution processes and know to pass problems to your team.Problem management. You can investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem (for example, strategic, tactical, operational). You can contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.Service focus. You know about different products and services.Technical understanding. You know about the subject matter and have an understanding of what it involves.User focus. You have an awareness or understanding of user experience analysis and its principles. You can see the purpose of user stories and focus on user needs. Desired SkillsKnowledge and prior experience of managing and configuring Workday business processes and ETL a big plus.A solid understanding of SaaS delivery models and configuration managementAn understanding of Agile methodologiesExperience of working with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence.Experience working with or managing an ITSM product.
