As a Principal Engineer in Service Integration you'll have the opportunity to expand and impart that knowledge and act as mentor to others across the wider Service Integration team. You will shape the way DTH and OTT, both linear and VoD is operationally managed for a diverse range of exciting projects - Service Integration Manager"

What you'll do:

- Act as a subject matter expert in Engineering and Ops Readiness. Including, but not limited to, DTH and OTT headend components, DVB/MPEG, Streaming formats, Containerisation, Ops Readiness best practice, content monitoring tools, IP networks, Ops tools development. - Training both within Service Integration and to external teams on complex systems and latest developments. - Representing both the technical and operational needs of the team when assessing headend upgrades and signing off on solutions. - Advise vendors (e.g. Synamedia, Mediakind) on specific requirements of operational teams to shape the delivery of products and services to meet evolving needs. - Providing a high-quality integration service to multiple internal & external stakeholders, including Sky Commercial/Business, Software Engineering, NOW, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, BBC, ITV, Arqiva etc. - Be instrumental in the continuous improvement of DTH and OTT data source integration and the improvement in process between multiple platforms carrying common services. - Can provide cover for any SI Engineer or Dev Lead role in case of resourcing issues if called upon.

What you'll bring:

- Considerable experience as a Senior Service Integration Engineer, Senior Service Integration Development Lead or equivalent role with demonstrable senior leadership. - Demonstrate a strong technical awareness across DTH and OTT, linear and VoD and curiosity to know how things work and a desire to solve problems independently. - Demonstrable improvements in process, tools development and delivery of those to the operational environment with clear benefits. - Brilliant interpersonal, written and communication skills; ability to work directly with stakeholders in partnership and be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Interest or passion for Digital Broadcasting, including a working knowledge of Digital Broadcasting standards such as DVB & MPEG, streaming formats, IPTV, content preparation, operational readiness across DTH and OTT. - Educated to degree level (or educational equivalent) in a Broadcast, Technical, Information Technology or Engineering subject or having extensive broadcast experience. - Expertise in SQL to pull and analyse data & an awareness of UNIX/Linux, IT and networking.
