The Role

As a Business Application Specialist in the IT middleware team you will be responsible for the full end to end solutions for the IT Plan, Make and Move team supporting SAP Integration Suite and potentially other tools like MuleSoft or MS Azure. The role will include the mapping of data from the host system to end locations such as distribution centres or third-party clients. You will also be supporting and maintaining database functions such as SQL Server and mySQL

In addition to the above technical aspects of the role, you'll be responsible for formalizing standards for the middleware development process; including source control, documentation standards, release strategies and future software roadmap to meet the Clarks IT objectives.

You will ensure that new changes are addressed, incidents are managed, and business requirements are met, utilising our systems to underpin the process. To achieve this, you will be interacting closely with the more seasoned IT professionals who will help and guide you on how to do this, building your knowledge and experience. You will use the integration functionality through the Integration Suite, MuleSoft or MS Azure to build solutions that support and enable the business, test that it is fit for purpose and be involved in the roll out, adoption and support going forward.

Key Accountabilities:

Design detailed solution components  

Develops and documents detailed designs progressively, using agreed and appropriate phased or rapid agile development techniques. Ensures that all components (business processes and related automated and manual controls, supporting IT applications, infrastructure services and technology products, and partners/suppliers) are addressed within the design. Ensure that the detailed design includes internal and external Service and Operational Level Agreements.

Develop solution components

Develops solution components progressively in accordance with detailed designs following development methods and documentation standards, quality assurance (QA) requirements, and approval standards. Ensure that all control requirements in the business processes, supporting IT applications and infrastructure services, services and technology products, and partners/suppliers are addressed.

Build solutions

Install and configure solutions and integrate with business process activities. Implement control, security and auditability measures during configuration and during integration of hardware and infrastructural software, to protect resources and ensure availability and data integrity. Update the services catalogue to reflect the new solutions.

Perform quality assurance      

Develop, resource and execute a QA plan aligned with the QMS to obtain the quality specified in the requirements definition and the enterprise's quality policies and procedures.

 

Prepare for solution testing    

Establish a test plan and required environments to test the individual and integrated solution components, including the business processes and supporting services, applications and infrastructure.

About you:

You will have skills in either SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft Developer or MZ Azure with at least 2 years' experience. With demonstrated experience of integration between systems coupled with an understanding of source control and use of Bitbucket would be preferred.  Good SQL skills (MySQL or SQL Server) and an understanding of the architecture behind the integration platforms will help with this role.

You'll have a keen interest in IT and technology with the desire to develop your career along the way. You'll have strong attention to detail, time-management, organisation and communication skills.  Demonstrated experience of Experience within an IT solution area is desirable.
