Job Title:RAN Planning & optimisation engineerInside IR35 Location:Bristol, Hatfield, Birmingham Department/Practice: RAN Job Purpose and primary objectives: Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team): ? Technical knowledge, understanding and experience of the mobile radio access network - 2G, 3G,4G and 5G ? Understanding of the complex interaction between coverage and capacity in the mobile radio access network. ? Support RF Planning Tools and Coverage Reporting activities, delivering to a high standard to meet requirement. ? Knowledge and understanding of mobile RAN site design. ? Knowledge and understanding of RF Optimisation and Planning activities, 2G,3G, 4G and 5G. ? Knowledge and understanding of planning transmission/transport networks as well as the traditional mobile RAN elements. ? Good Problem solving skills ? Good Data analytics skills. Key Skills/Knowledge: Experience required: ? Experience of mobile RAN performance and planning, with knowledge of all area such as coverage, capacity, topology, transmission and transport. ? RF propagation and planning tools such as Atoll and Asset, with strong knowledge of IT based applications associated with RF and capacity planning activities. ? Experience in using Visualisation and elaboaration tools such as Mapinfo, QGIs and ideally ARCGIS. ? Experience with coding (such as Python) and automation. ? Assisting in the development of new processes and methodologies and implementing them within the area of responsibility. ? Produce Coverage impact assessment reports using Planning tools - Atoll and Asset. ? Analyse drive test logs including L3 messages for customer complaints or others. ? Radio network optimisation and performance analysis, parameters, KPI analysis etc ? Manage network coverage, capacity and performance effectively. ? Root cause investigation in regards of poor customer performance. ? Defining the reporting capability for Service and Resource KPIs to monitor, manage and proactively improve the Customer Experience - performance reports and dashboards, as per requirement.
