I have a requirement for a Catalyst Performance & Integration Engineer for a contract position in Darlingto.Initial assignment duration: 6 months with a possibility for extension.The CPI team selects and validates catalyst elements of the aftertreatment system.Candidates need decent awareness of chemistry and the fluid mechanics side of engineering.Aside from selecting the appropriate technologies and evaluating parts they will also be supporting cross functional design reviews for catalysts and other components that affect catalysts.They will also be supporting Aftertreatment Integration with troubleshooting and in events of failures. Role OverviewYou will be working with the Catalyst Performance & Integration team to drive the selection, performance evaluation and integration of diesel engine exhaust aftertreatment catalysts.Job Responsibilities and Duties:Support the clients Value Package Introduction Process used to bring new engine and aftertreatment systems to market.Work with Analysis Led Design teams to complete simulations of catalysts and aftertreatment systems under steady state and transient engine conditions using AVL Boost.Work with Test Engineering teams to produce test instructions, scripts and logging files for engine dynamometer testing of different catalysts under steady state and transient conditions.Analyse simulation, test cell, pilot vehicle and field test data to evaluate hardware performance for a variety of different test types and scenarios.Support cross functional design reviews for catalysts and other hardware, including requirements definition, Failure Modes & Effects Analyses (FMEA) and performance & validation testing.Support troubleshooting processes to mitigate risks and resolve issues with catalysts systems identified through simulation, testing and analysis.Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:Good understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and chemistryMethodical and data-based approach to analysis and problem solvingProven attention to detailStrong team working skills and communication skills.Ability to work independentlyMATLAB and AVL Boost experience an advantagePrevious experience of engine dynamometer testing an advantageKnowledge of Diesel engine and/or Aftertreatment architecture an advantage but not essentialPlease click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
