I am currently working with a client in the Yorkshire area that is looking for a senior quality manager to join their team on an interim basis for 6 months. The ideal candidateQuality experience NHS experience Managed a team of 10 or more Can work well in a teamRegistered Nurse - Not essentialWork in conjunction with the wider Quality team to engage with stakeholders, including Executive Directors, other senior staff (both clinical and non-clinical) and other staff more broadly to ensure the right views are sought and heard when scoping and planning improvement work.Write and submit clear, high quality, comprehensive reports as required which are fit for purpose and contain robust and valid data and analysis to support recommendations.Work with and engage clinicians across the Trust to critically examine patient safety risk reduction ideas negotiating and supporting implementation of changes required.Day to Day dutiesIn conjunction with the wider Quality Team identify improvement priorities, plan and deliver patient safety improvement programmes across the TrustUndertake thematic analyses of patient safety incidents, clinical negligence claims and the coronial process to identify learning and key patient safety risks and make recommendations for risk reduction actions.Work collaboratively with Clinical Business Units in developing their governance systems for managing quality, risk and patient safety.Set and communicate clear consistent standards and expectations for the management patient safety incidents, clinical negligence claims and the coronial process.Provide expert knowledge and oversight in the use and application of systems based patient safety investigations in a complex change environment.Use and ensure accuracy and currency of information contained within the electronic patient safety system for all aspects of incident management, clinical negligence claims and the coronial process to provide a clear evidence based audit trail and rationale for decision making.Assist the Associate Director of Quality and Associate Director of Corporate Governance in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the Risk Management Strategy and Framework for the Trust in line with Trust objectives and priorities, changing legislation and regulation and to ensure they support continuous improvement, the delivery of high standards of care and the Trust's vision and values.Working with managers and frontline staff ensure that risk, governance and clinical effectiveness, assurance and quality improvement concepts become embedded in Trust decision making, planning and performance management process.Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Trust is leading edge in delivering all aspects of the portfolio of work relevant to this post.Where appropriate report directly to the Trust's Board of Directors.Support the Associate Director of Quality in the development and implementation of the Quality Report to the Board and Quality Dashboard by working with the Board, senior management team and frontline clinical staff to develop and report upon appropriate quality metrics and indicators relevant to the work of the teamSupport the Associate Director of Quality in ensuring NHS Improvement requirements in relation to clinical quality management as set out in the Quality Governance Framework are met.Support the Associate Director of Quality in ensuring that processes and systems are in place across the organisation to maintain the Trust's CQC registration, including variations to registration which reflect the changing regulated activities and locations of the Trust.Review and assess the sensitivity of Trust Governance processes in relation to the escalation of risk and the identification of safety concerns.Lead the serious incident review process within the Trust ensuring robust, objective investigations and identifying assurance mechanisms in relation to learning form incidents.Support the work of the Quality of Care Panel by providing data and intelligence to enable a contemporaneous view and clear line of sight for the senior leadership team in relation to actual and potential safety and quality issues.Produce and/or co-ordinate the production of cyclical, routine, periodic and ad hoc analysis, information, data and high quality reports for Trust Board, Quality Academy, Commissioners, Executive Directors, managers, frontline staff and other partners as required.Demonstrate and ability to diagnose resistance to change, to change attitudes and motivate individuals and groups. Where agreement is not possible to demonstrate leadership in the decision making process.Understand highly complex facts and situations which require analysis and interpretation to include performance data, capacity and demand data and assessment of other projects.
