Job Title: Process OperatorLocation: MotherwellSalary: Competitive depending on experienceJob Type: Permanent, Full TimeWorking Hours: Full Time shifts 4 on 4 off that includes 2 days and 2 nightsClosing Date: 26th April 2021Argent Energy is the UK's leading waste-to-energy biodiesel producer with operations in Scotland and North West England and has always been privately owned. Our main plant, near Motherwell in Scotland, started production in 2005.Following significant investment to facilitate growth and development, a number of facilities have been built in the Stanlow area. We specialise in the production and supply of high grade, sustainable diesel made from waste fats and oils deliberately excluding any raw materials that could also be used for food or feed.Main Purpose:Working as a member of the PTP Department the Process Operator is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and environmentally compliant operation. Monitoring of plant equipment and conditions and responding accordingly to any trends or faults.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Understanding of plant priorities and operational needsSupporting the Shift Team Leader and Senior Operator, in the safe and effective operation of the PTPLab analysis work involving tests of on-site materialsOperation of support equipment and facilities associated with the PTP facility, effluent treatment and utilitiesPrioritise the allocation of tasks ensure maximum plant utilisation and operation of the siteEnsure all equipment is kept in good condition and areas kept clean and tidy. Ensure departmental housekeeping is of a high standardEnsure any tools, PPE or other equipment is stored correctly after useCarry out Preventative Maintenance on plant equipment as required in a timely mannerAs part of a team and under the leadership of the Team Leader or senior operator, start, shut down, operate, adjust and clean equipmentIn all cases work closely with Senior Operators/Team Leaders to report on progress and highlight potential issuesEnsure all work undertaken is done so in accordance with the company policies and in a safe mannerMonitoring computerised plant controls and responding accordingly to faultsManagement and operation of the site effluent system, including the DAFLab Analysis as required to ensure effective process control and measurementLoading and unloading of material into the tank farm as requiredContribute to the decision making process regarding level of spares / equipmentLiaise with the operational teams including BDR to ensure safe and smooth operation of the overall siteCarry out any other reasonable tasks as required by ManagementControlling the receipt, handling, storage and delivery of feedstock productsThe Candidate:A discipline in some technical / Engineering field - Chemical / FMCG / Processing background is preferred.Experience of working at operator in plant would be preferred.IOSH working safety would be beneficial.Experience of working in a process plant is preferred.This job description is a summary of the main duties of the role but is not exhaustive.
