Commutable from Bristol, Bath, Swindon, and the surrounding areas the Power Electronics Design Engineer will work alongside Senior Engineers and will be responsible for the design and development of innovative Power Electronics technology for the automotive, RF, Digital and Space sectors. The Power Electronics Design Engineer will work as part of a team, who are experts in Power Electronics using Wide-Band Gap devices. Their primary responsibility is to design; high-power SMPS’s (DC-DC, AC-DC), Inverters (DC-AC) using SiC and GaN to maximise the efficiency of the targeted technology. Other responsibilities of the Power Electronics Design Engineer will also include; assessing power conversion topologies, writing technical reports, and interacting with other engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and have a demonstrable background in Power Electronics, Motor Control, and Inverter design. Other desirable skills include:Practical exposure to GaN and SiC devices.
