My client is a leading online marketplace for flexible energy supply in the UK, and a pace setter in a sector that’s poised to transform smart energy tech by enabling renewables, batteries and electric vehicles to balance the grid, both in the UK and further afield. They are looking for a permanent QA Engineer to join a growing team to scale and improve their current platform. The software stack comprises a single-page app and a backend running on a serverless infrastructure. The successful QA Engineer will work on the core product - identifying testing needs and strategy, guiding the team in implementing best quality practices and hands-on testing. In a typical week, the QA Engineer will be involved in testing new features, writing and reviewing automated tests, leading pre-emptive testing efforts as well as taking part in or influencing the discovery and scoping of new features. The ideal QA Engineer will need to meet most of the below criteria:Proficient in different aspects of testing (exploratory testing, acceptance testing, setting up test data and test environments, security testing, performance testing, etc.).Experience in test automation (JS with TestCafe/Cypress) deciding what to automate, setting up frameworks for automated tests, writing automated end-to-end tests.Familiar with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, CI systems such as Github Actions, and DockerAn advocate for user needs and experience.A confident communicator and are comfortable in expressing opinions and asking questions.Fluent in English, even if it’s not your first language.Motivated by the mission to make our communities energy system smart, flexible and clean.Prior experience working within a cross-functional team solving complex business problems.  What is on offer A competitive salary, with share options comes as standard. The range for this role is £50-60,000. The team is currently working from home on an indefinite basis, however there are plans to secure a new office space and return to the Shoreditch area this year. No team members have been furloughed during the pandemic and every member of the team was provided with the equipment they need to work comfortably and effectively in a remote setting.
