Software Engineering Team Leader / Lead Developer - Remote Working (Java/AWS/MongoDB/RabbitMQ)We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join a team building an industry leading online platform. This a team leadership role and there is responsibility for people management (however there is a similar, separate opportunity that is purely hands on and no management, so if that's what you're looking for please apply and we can discuss this in more detail in a follow up call). Please note approximately 50% of your time will remain hands-on and so the technical skills outlined below are required.The Technology:You will join a highly skilled team of engineers building software with stability, scalability and flexibility in mind. We're looking for technical experience / understanding in as many of the below as possible (not all essential)Java or similar JVM flavoured languageAWS or another cloud platformEvent streaming e.g. KafkaCI/CD utilising technologies such as Jenkins or GoCDMessage queues e.g. RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ etcSQL Databases e.g. MySQLNoSQL databases e.g. MongoResponsibilitiesMentor, lead and motivate a team of software engineers with different skills and experience, approximately 10 engineers mid-senior in their experience.Lead by example and be a technical point of contact within the team as well as ensuring the engineers remain accountable and on track with expectationsDemonstrate a passion for clean and secure code and desire to build industry leading platforms.Advocate and evangelise best practice engineeringHave familiarity with security and operational best practicesWorking in a modern, agile environment (e.g. familiar with Scrum / Kanban)Bonus/Benefits A very comprehensive benefits package is on offer for the successful candidate including private medical, five figure bonus, and comprehensive training and development to support your career progression.
