Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Unix GCP Docker Bash) One of the biggest digital property websites in the UK is seeking a tech-driven Infrastructure Engineer with strong operations experience to join their high-performing Infrastructure Team.

With over 6.5 billion page views a month, their website contains a vast amount of valuable data and is one of the most visited websites in the world. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play an integral role in supporting the business-wide infrastructure operation, collaborating with the DBA, SRE and Infrastructure teams to maintain, enhance and optimise the technical infrastructure and systems across the company.

You'll work with diverse, modern tools and technologies, including Unix, Docker, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Bash/ Python, microservices and networking, and will be encouraged to explore new and emerging technologies to determine what the best tool is for the task at hand.

*Please note: this company is able to offer a remote interview and onboarding process during the current social distancing measures. You'll join colleagues in London offices in due course, with continued flexible work opportunities including 1-2 days a week working from home*

Requirements:

You have strong Unix/ Linux administration skills

You can script in either Bash and/or Python

You have an understanding of how websites work; HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP

You have knowledge of networking foundations, switching, routing, load balancing etc.

You have a good understanding of IT infrastructure component

You have cloud experience (they use GCP, Azure/ AWS experience also considered if candidate has Terraform)

Ideally you will have come from a BigCommerce/ highly scaled website background

Highly desirable: VMWare / Kubernetes / Swarm Clusters / Docker / Kafka / ElasticSearch experience
