This organisation, based in Nottingham, has been installing control and automation systems for feed and grain plants since 1979. They are recognised as a market leader and have a growing reputation for providing easy to use, flexible and innovative control systems worldwide. They are now seeking a talented Software Support Engineer to join their team.

What you'll do

Working from the head office in West Bridgford, Nottingham as a Support Engineer, you will be responsible for first line response to support calls from their clients in the UK and overseas. Liaising with customers, you'll provide exceptional level of support and valuable training to ensure that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively. You will be expected to diagnose software issues and fix if possible. Otherwise, you will escalate the support issue to the next level response. Other support issues may involve advising the caller on diagnosing the nature of their issue which could be mechanical or electrical. When not dealing with support issues you will be expected to assist with the configuration of new control projects to help develop your knowledge and experience of the AutoPilot4Feed system.

The position will eventually involve joining the rota system for out of office hours' support. A company mobile phone and laptop will be provided for this purpose.

What you'll need

This is the ideal role for an engineer with experience of using and maintaining automation and control systems looking to progress their career with a successful company. As a Support Engineer, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and a logical, analytical approach. Methodical and driven, you must also have a strong customer focus and superb attention to detail.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- Excellent customer service skills

- Good analytical and problem solving skills

- Knowledge of Windows Server and PCs

Experience and knowledge in the following would also be an advantage:

- Automation and control systems

- PLCs, SCADA systems and electrical panels

- Materials handling processes particularly in the feed and grain sector

- Ethernet networking

- SQL Server database
