Job Title: CAD Designer / DraughtspersonLocation: DerbyshireSalary: £30,000 to £38,000 per annum plus overtime (dependent on experience) Contributory Pension SchemeJob Type: Full Time, PermanentHours: Full time position, 40 Hours minimum. They are looking to fill this position with a candidate with a degree of flexibility - the workload varies considerably and at times overtime working during the normal working week is inevitableProbationary Period: 3 MonthsHolidays: 20 days plus statutory Bank Holidays, increasing over time to a maximum of 25The vacancy is for an additional CAD designer to strengthen the team. The company is a busy, successful Architectural Metalwork Fabricator, based on the edge of the Peak District. They specialise in the design, manufacture, and installation of contemporary, bespoke, high end architectural metalwork products primarily in mild steel, stainless steel & glass. Supplying regional and national contracts up to £120K to both private clients and their large repeat customer base in the construction sector, they punch above their weight to continue to develop a reputation of delivering cost effective imaginative ideas, with a high standard of workmanship, to tight deadlines, accompanied by great levels of customer service. Due to a full order book, they are looking to recruit an additional, fully experienced, CAD designer to join this small team. Promotional possibilities exist for the right candidate.Duties & Responsibilities:This key position involves managing the whole design function of the business for both large and small projects on behalf of principal contractors and private clientsIndependently produce CAD design packages of architectural metalwork. In particular staircases, balustrade, balconies and glassworkPreparation of high quality, technically accurate GA's to meet set design requirements, and submission for approval, updating as needed following comments, site surveys and other amendmentsPrepare complete Fabrication Drawing Packages for both in house and subcontract production (Models, Assemblies, Single Parts, DXF's, Material & Bolt Lists & Schedules and installation drawings)Liaison with suppliers and subcontractors to complete procurement of components.Self-discipline and good time management skills are essential as at any one time you could be working on a number of different projectsReporting To: The company owner/managing directorThe CandidateKnowledge:Advance Steel skills advantageous and preferred, but what have you?
