We are looking for a self-motivated and driven Security Architect to be responsible for planning, designing and implementing architectural security across Cambridge Assessment and our future organisation.

This role is critical to developing our security maturity and will provide assurance as security architectures are defined and reviewed, gaps identified and formalised, ensuring appropriate recommendations are delivered to bring residual risk within our risk appetite.

With a positive, can-do attitude, you will stay calm under pressure and be able to demonstrate a collaborative and understanding approach to working.

What you'll be doing

Taking the initiative and lead on scoping specific technical security controls proportionate to the assessed risk, you will define the standardised technical security controls and capabilities needed to make sure that our key business systems are designed and implemented to be secure throughout their life-cycle.

You will keep up to date with developments in technical standards, controls and capability sets to minimise control gaps upon deployment of any future architectural state.  Supporting the agile development teams by providing guidance and training on the suitability of controls against identified threats, you will develop the security maturity and provide assurance to stakeholders.

You will document and assess the maturity of our current architectural security posture, developing and maintaining security architecture artefacts (models, patterns, standards and procedures) that can be used to identify control gaps against industry security standards and to highlight areas and opportunities for improvement.

What we're looking for

A strong background in a previous security architect role:

  • Threat modelling such as STRIDE or VAST
  • Risk assessment of solution design and/or enterprise architecture.
  • Experience securing on-prem and Cloud architectures, including microservices and REST paradigms
  • Experience of regulatory standards and frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, CIS, PCI, GDPR
  • Knowledge of key security technologies such as CASB, SOAR, NTA, SIEM, WAF, IPS and Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Networks, Storage, Compute, OS, Database, Automation tools in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Broad experience in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and modelling, BPMN and ArchiMate.
  • Appropriate experience across a variety of Dev/SecOps roles with a deep understanding of technological ecosystems.

Alternatively, you will already have a qualification, such as, SABSA, CISSP, CCSP, CCNP.
