Data Centre Engineer

Clearance: SC or DV clearance

Location: London

Duration: 12 Month Contract, long term project

Status: Inside IR35

The Data Centre Engineer role supports the Data Centre Services team in the following ways:

* Providing 1st/2nd line support across a broad range of hardware products.

* Planning and implementation of all IT hardware installation adhering to strict Data Centre Standards.

* Ensure security procedures with reference to Data Centres are complied with.

Task Description:

* Maintenance of Data Centre toolsets that assist with support and management

* Management and governance over the DC

* Work closely with our facilities providers to maximise energy efficiency savings

* Successful day to day running of the Data Centre, including installations, decommissions, changes and maintenance

* Data Centre related service improvement projects

* Data Centre related major infrastructure projects including power outages and replacements

* Managing complex inter-rack/room cable infrastructure, providing a stable platform for IT infrastructure and desktop connectivity

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 18 weeks.
