Technical Lead | North West / Remote Working | £65,000 - £85,000I am engaged with a Global Bank on an exclusive position within their UK-based engineering division. The role is newly released, part of a 2020 Q2 recruitment drive as the business (like the rest of the world) starts to move into a post-COVID reality. I've worked with this organisation for a number of years and their culture, as well as the vast amount of resources available, makes this position a hugely attractive opportunity for a Senior/Lead Engineer looking to progress.Role OverviewYour role will see you work in a hybrid role, encompassing hands-on engineering with wider responsibilities including the management of stakeholders and leadership (both people and projects). The core focus will be the Java technology stack (Java 8-11, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Hibernate, Maven), with the role also focusing on driving best practices and engineering standards, with a wider focus on modern engineering principles (e.g. Agile, CI/CD, Scrum, DevOps, TDD).Remote WorkingThis role is 100% remote during the COVID-19 pandemic and will switch to a hybrid model post-COVID, with 2 days' per week expected in the office with 3/4 days' per week at home. Due to the nature of this role (i.e. leadership), they do understandably want candidates to have some office presence on a weekly basis.Role RequirementsIn terms of their expectations from you, rather than simply copying and pasting the JD, I have decided to pick out the key requirements below:Programming Skills - You should ideally have proven commercial experience developing applications with the Java stack (Java 8-11, Spring, Hibernate, Maven), as well as wider skills in JavaScript/Pthon (beneficial but not essential).Methodologies - Proven skills and experience in Agile/Scrum, CI/CD and DevOps practices.Database Technologies - Skills in either MySQL, Oracle, SQL or MongoDB are required (some, not all!).Tools - Experience working with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker etc. (not essential).Next StepsSo if you've read this advert and think 'this sounds pretty interesting' then why not apply?
