Principal Platform Engineer (DevOps Terraform Docker AWS) Are you an accomplished technologist with strong leadership acumen, looking for an opportunity to accelerate your career in a FinTech that is set to transform the future of modern banking?

They are seeking a skilled Principal Platform Engineer with a wealth of technical leadership expertise to play a key role in both their Platform Engineering and Platform Leadership teams, where you'll drive the vision for the service going forward.

As a Principal Platform Engineer, you'll play an integral role in establishing technical standards, driving technical architecture, engineering practices and methodologies, ensuring the company is operating architecturally sound systems that are aligned with business objectives.

You'll act as a critical point of technical contact and key figure across the Platform Engineering effort, where you'll have the opportunity to guide teams to deliver the market-leading core banking product; a mission critical system that will potentially serve hundreds of millions of customers across the world.

You'll work closely with key stakeholders and other leaders across the business to cultivate the long term leadership and business strategy, bridging gaps between business vision and technical realities to deliver first-rate technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience of Platform Engineering and DevOps practices, with exemplary hands-on experience producing detailed technical work and high-level architectural designs.

The cloud-native platform infrastructure is hosted on AWS, codified in Terraform and deployed with Concourse. You'll also work with other modern tools and technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Cockroach and Kafka, amongst others.

Requirements:

You have expert knowledge of Platform Engineering tools, technologies and practices including AWS services, Terraform, Kubernetes

You have good working knowledge of TCP/HTTP, networking concepts

You have experience in leading development life cycle processes and are committed to best practices in operating distributed cloud-based microservices

Experience with Kafka, Concourse, Cockroach, Terragrunt is highly desirable, but not essential

You have excellent communication skills, able to forge robust working relationships at any level of business

You have a passion for solving complex technical problems, driving innovation and bringing leadership ideas to the table
