We are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Engineer to expand our current team. This team is responsible for the design, deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance of our hosting infrastructure, and for building dedicated customer solutions. We currently support an infrastructure of over 2000 physical and virtual servers with over 100,000 customers on a redundant core network, operating out of three data centres. The Systems Engineer Role: + Work as part of the engineering team to ensure that all services run optimally. Continuously monitor performance against published SLA targets.
+ Assist in the management of Linux based services, such as Shared Hosting (Plesk /Cpanel) on Centos, CloudLinux, customer dedicated servers, using platforms such as Ansible, Spacewalk, Nagios and Icinga.
+ Deployment of enterprise class solutions such as clustering and load balancing high availability services on both Windows and Linux platforms.
+ Help plan and implement future developments, such as systems upgrades, using detailed plans and scheduled upgrade or implementation cycles.
+ Help maintain anti-virus, backup, and other management software on Windows/Linux systems.
+ Assist with security and patch management on all hosted and customer systems.
+ Participate in the on-call roster in support of other team members (24 /7/365) This is an opportunity to work with many different technologies and platforms and to develop your technical skills within a very experienced group of professionals. Linux technologies: Centos, RHEL, Debian, Cloud Linux, XEN/KVM, MySQL, PostGreSQL, PHP, DRBD, DNS, LDAP, Bash scripting, Python, Ansible, Nagios /Icinga, Netbox/Racktables. A good working knowledge of Plesk /cPanel would be advantageous. Experience Required: The relevant applicant will ideally have a background in a web-hosting environment, with strong skills in Linux systems administration, virtualisation technologies, some networking skills. An in-depth knowledge of Linux infrastructure and a good working knowledge of the other technologies, in a high-availability 24/7 environment is essential, as is the ability to plan and schedule work to minimise service outages.
