Oracle Coherence Technical lead - Investment bank

Act as the technical lead for Oracle Coherence, defining and governing development best practices.

Optimisation of the CI-CD pipeline for Coherence using Jenkins, Ancible etc.

Share Coherence skills and technical expertise with other team members.

Remain informed on Coherence advances and best practices, ensuring these are adopted where appropriate.

Enhance continuous integration and performance testing frameworks.

Provide architectural guidance and governance for the development and expansion of the Coherence systems.

Ensure optimal performance and capacity monitoring of production systems with all release candidates tested against performance benchmarks.

Enhance/bugfix existing software and provide new functionality as requested by the business or internal IT teams.

Manage general software issues relating to data integrity, system efficiency, functional architecture and testing frameworks, etc.

Produce high quality code with supporting commentary and system documentation.

Ensure all development adheres to the defined architectural and development standards (TDD etc.)

Conduct peer/code reviews.

Provide 3rd line support as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Ideally a numerate degree/qualification (Maths, Computer Science, Software Engineering)

- Very strong demonstrable expertise in development, performance tuning and monitoring of Oracle Coherence clusters

- JVM performance tuning

- Strong test driven Java programming skills

- Experience with C++ & C#

- Exposure to SQL on a relational database - preferably Oracle

- High level of motivation and enthusiasm

- Good communication skills

- Experience of Dev-Opi tools such as Jenkins, Ancible, Sonar

Highly desirable skills

- Experience of mentoring other developers

- Geneos

- Experience with AngularJS + ASP.NET

- Splunk
