IT Support Engineer / Second Line Helpdesk Technician with a broad general knowledge and experience of Information Technology systems including hardware, software and networking in a Microsoft environment, with good customer service skills along with a motivated, proactive and helpful approach to work is required for an international development organisation based in Rugby, Warwickshire.
SALARY: £20,874 - £25,634 per annum + Benefits (See Below)
LOCATION: Rugby, Warwickshire - currently remote working but candidates will need to be able to work from the company offices in Rugby once restrictions ease
JOB TYPE: Permanent, Full-Time
HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
COVID restrictions: Most of the staff in the UK are currently working from home due to the coronavirus and the organisation expect it to be this way for some time. It is however their practice normally that they operate an agile flexible working policy, where flexible working hours are enabled as well as remote working (between 2-3 days per week depending on the role)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Support Engineer / Second Line Helpdesk Technician with a broad general knowledge and experience of Information Technology systems including hardware, software and networking in a Microsoft environment, with good customer service skills along with a motivated, proactive and helpful approach to work.
Working as the IT Support Engineer / Second Line Helpdesk Technician you will help provide an IT helpdesk service (by phone, in person or electronically) to all UK based staff both in the office and remotely (approximately 120 users)

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the IT Support Engineer / Second Line Helpdesk Technician will include:
Provide 1st and 2nd line user support, including procedural documentation of user guides
Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
Support staff on the set up of their desktop, laptop and tablet PCs
Assist in testing and evaluating new desktop technology
Support the roll-out of new applications
Replace hardware parts on desktops and laptops as required
Rack mount servers, do cabling, lifting and moving of computers and IT equipment
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks based on standard operating procedures as outlined by the infrastructure and application specialists
Maintain and update the UK IT equipment asset list
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Relevant experience working as a 2nd line IT support technician in a small IT department
Broad general knowledge and experience of IT systems including hardware, software and networking in a Microsoft environment
Level 3 NVQ, BTEC Diploma or equivalent in IT is desirable
Microsoft MCSA qualifications or equivalent and beyond is desirable
Experience of working in an office or customer service environment
Motivated, proactive and helpful approach to work
Willingness to undertake training
Team Player
Good written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of:
Windows 7 and 10
Windows server including a virtualized environment
Microsoft Active Directory including user account creation and maintenance
Microsoft Office 2010 onwards (inc Office 2019), Office 365 email, SharePoint and web browsers
Laptops, desktops and tablets including peripherals such as printers, smart card readers, webcams etc.
Microsoft Teams and video conferencing
Networked computing systems or understanding of Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi)
Internet Technologies
Anti-Virus and Firewall software products
CRM and Financial systems
Network cable patching
Microsoft Azure, Cloud Computing and remote management tools would be an advantage
