As one of the most exciting companies in Financial Services in the UK we have a career opportunity for a Quality Assurance Lead.As the Quality Assurance Lead within our Architecture and Engineering team, you'll report into our Software Engineering Lead, and drive our approach to ensuring quality in all our deliveries. Our deliveries include a mixture of in-house developed applications and integrations with and customisations of third-party SAAS products. We strive for 100% automation in a cloud-native, serverless environment.We believe in an open and collaborative working environment, and we want you to draw upon your experience to establish this culture within engineering, whilst ensuring we don't skip over our regulatory obligations around process controls. What you'll be doing:You will help us introduce the necessary tooling, and coach delivery teams to develop the right culture, to ensure that an uncompromising stance on quality is at the heart of everything we deliver as a team.You will identify and mentor quality champions to ensure your strategy for quality control is applied consistently across delivery teams.You will work closely with the software engineering lead to ensure software engineers understand their accountability for quality, and provide them with the tools and skills to take ownership of quality.You will work with delivery leads to ensure test coverage, quality gates and release sign-off process is inherent to the SDLC.You will ensure our quality control measures increase our agility, and enable us to deliver product to the customer faster. What you'll have Skills/Experience/Qualifications:You are experienced championing quality in delivery teams, and are a skilled influencer in achieving the right culture and mindset in these teams.You can explain the different types of testing that can be applied, and the importance of each.You understand how quality can be tested continuously, and at every stage of the delivery pipeline.You appreciate that high levels of repeatable automated tested are fundamental to continuous iterative delivery.You can both describe and demonstrate how quality assurance is an enabler rather than an impediment to software delivery, and how it increases, rather than slows, throughput.You have a good understanding of the quality control tools and techniques available to software engineers, and how these can be used to shift quality control left.
