Business Intelligence Executive
Contract: Permanent
Salary: From £36,216 per annum
Start date: ASAP
We are recruiting for a Business Intelligence Executive who will play a key role in enabling BMJ to deliver value from customer and user data through the intelligent application of our data and technology.
Using the latest innovations in SAP BusinessObjects and other available tools, you will proactively transform BMJ's data into meaningful information to promote better decision making and to obtain value from customer, user and product data.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deriving value from data, and can demonstrate good application and knowledge of Business Intelligence products, preferably SAP BusinessObjects, to enable the delivery of an exceptional Business Intelligence service.
Responsabilties
Develop and enhance data visualisations, dashboards and analyses using BMJ's BI platform
Ensure all BI content is tested, reconciled & certificated prior to release
Develop and enhance underlying BI databases
Work closely with stakeholders at all levels across BMJ to fully understand and deliver on their BI needs and aspirations
Enable stakeholders to understand the "art of the possible" to ensure the best tools and approaches are used to meet their BI and data visualisation requirements
Ensure analytical and data mapping requirements are fully documented
Work closely with the teams within BMJ Data to ensure all data warehouse and data quality dependencies are fully understood and documented
Provide end user support to investigate issues & respond to user queries
Keep up-to-date with the latest BI innovations and industry best practice to actively promote the benefits of BI and new innovations
Collaborate with BMJ Data and other BMJ departments as appropriate to support the delivery of BMJ's overall data strategy
Qualifications
Skilled in the use of BI tools, preferably with SAP BusinessObjects, to deliver information that can be used for evidence based decision making
A proven track record in the design and development of BI databases and outputs including data visualisations, dashboards and analyses to meet complex stakeholder requirements
Strong SQL skills for the analysis and creation of SQL statements
Strong understanding of database and data warehouse modelling concepts
Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels within an organisation, correctly manage stakeholder expectations and communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Ability to produce work to a very high level accuracy ensuring that outputs are trusted
Experience ideally within professional services, publishing or business information delivery
Educated to degree level or equivalent
