Digital Policing Directorate

West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit 2 Network Engineers to join the Digital Policing Directorate based in Bradford.

As part of the Digital Infrastructure Team, your role will be to manage, maintain, support, monitor and ensure integrity of the WYP ‘ICCS' System and the WYP, Voice, Security and Data Network estate in compliance with nationally agreed security standards and protocols.

You must have 3 years' experience in a relevant environment with knowledge of managing Voice and Data Networks and Security systems. You must also have the ability to use sophisticated monitoring tools for performance and diagnosis purposes.

Ideal candidates must also be able to demonstrate practical technical expertise in the following areas (but not limited to): LAN and WAN networking technologies, 3G/4G mobile data networks, telephony, Wi-Fi internet access, management of Cisco firewalls, onsite and centralized IT storage, to ensure WYP has an effective IT network to support business and operational requirements.

In addition you will be required to undertake the configuration and installation of IT hardware and software (OS and OIS) to maintain the WYP IT infrastructure in accordance with project demands and information security requirements to ensure availability of systems for operational purposes

You must also be able to act in a consultancy capacity to ensure new Force initiatives are realised whilst maintaining best value. You will maintain and support the department's quality policy by working to the documented procedures and adhere to the data protection principles.

You may also be seconded to any area of the Digital Policing Directorate to work on improvement projects or in support duties.

Ideally, you will have access to a vehicle and, owing to the nature of the role, you must be willing and able to travel for business purposes in order to be considered for this position.
