As we continue to deliver our ambitious agenda to build the best physical and digital context for creative education, address the challenges of today, and increase our influence as Europe's largest specialist art and design university, we seek an exceptional leader to drive transformational change. The Chief Digital Officer role will be key in delivering our vision to provide and enable high quality IT infrastructure, high quality IT service support and empower major change programmes for UAL students and staff.

Through innovative thinking and building strong collaborative relationships with other members of the Executive Board and across the University, the Chief Digital Officer will develop, lead and execute a transformational digital strategy that is financially well-planned and aligned to the University's mission. This will include:

Leading and delivering high-quality digital services across the University.

Ensuring the delivery of effective and appropriate digital platforms for online learning and teaching products.

Advising on wider strategic implications from a digital perspective.

Establishing the Technology directorate - bringing together distributed teams from across the University to provide digital platforms, services, products and support.

Engaging fully with the UAL's anti-racism plans, in particular in the way they relate to Digital Transformation.

Your profile

Passionate about digital transformation and innovation in a global context, the postholder will offer an excellent technical understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture, data integration, and user-facing support services, combined with demonstrable success in a senior leadership role.  A proven track record in strategic planning and managing change and experience of networking at a national and/or international level is also required.
