IT Operational Resilience Expert with Scripting - Catastrophic Failure - Investment banking

A Technical IT Operational resilience expert form a banking background,  required to deal with potential catastrophic failure at the bank due to cyberattacks, etc.

Role is to provide added resilience to existing system, by adding extra protection to guard against this level of failure and will be achieved by importing key data  to the cloud - regular extraction -  to have access to prior data in the case of an attack on the banks systems.

Technical skills required of resilience mechanisms,  eg Operating systems; Databases; Middlewares) - such as load balancing; clusters; backup and restore systems and strategies; NAS resilience and security; Cloud backup.

Good scripting Skills ideally Python

Experience of data manipulation - will need to move recent data to jump-out station then to cloud to protect business if catastrophic attack / failure.

Technical expertise in supporting platforms, from resilience perspective, understanding here things can go wrong, able to use e.g Python to fix it, have 2^nd line incident response experience.

Familiarity with network and OS Security equipments: firewalls configuration; encryption standards and mechanisms (at rest and in transit), Cloud security

Strong technical skills required to understand vulnerabilities in detail and how to resolve/mitigate them, therefore being in capacity to assess effectiveness of measures and residual risk.

Excellent knowledge of IT best practices, from development to production and security

Familiarity with security risk standards, such as ISO 3100/27001/27005

Good understanding of ITIL standard, with a focus on change/release management

Awareness of key FFIEC and NIST standards related to IT security or IT Risk (NIST Cyber is a must)

Usage of COBIT 5 or ISO 38500 framework, or associated certifications (CISA...)

Exposure or certification related to ITIL, CMMi

Exposure to NIST SP 800-30, ISACA IT Risk framework or equivalent

Role is to ensure there is enough resilience - knowledge and critical data - collected, for the bank to have access to trading and other data, that existed, prior to the attack, if it were to happen. That information will be extracted on a very regular basis to a jump out station and then onto the Cloud. This will involve liaising with different area of the business to implement to provide added resilience    You must have relevant experience of this kind of role to be considered.
