INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

As an Internal Communications Officer, you will develop and write content for all internal communications channels, increasing use of digital engagement, and supporting the delivery of engagement events and opportunities for staff.
The post holder will develop an understanding of the communications needs of our employees by monitoring staff opinions and attaining valuable feedback.
The post holder will also help BSR senior leaders to improve their communications by ensuring feedback is reported and acted upon.
Support the development and implementation of the internal communication strategy and high-quality OASIS communication campaigns and activity that improve the quality of staff engagement, and help to curate and embed the BSR narrative.
Act as internal communications editor, being responsible for developing creative content, proactively sourcing, creating, and publishing content to support BSR communication activities.
Support the creation of new channels and maintenance of existing channels and embed proactive two-way internal communication methods and solutions to support the delivery of BSR activity.
Lead in the development and implementation of engagement events and opportunities for staff.
Support organisational change programmes providing advice on best methods of engagement and communication of messages.
Engage and work closely with Managers to support and advise on effective and innovative communication techniques.
Work collaboratively with other relevant communications staff such as content managers and designers to create compelling, effective and joined up content.
Provide support to research, measurement and evaluation systems. Evaluate communications impact to the organisation by implementing appropriate feedback mechanisms for each internal communications channel, or engagement piece. Ensure feedback is followed up and outcomes reported.
Set in place and maintain ways of capturing insight, and monitoring audiences, to inform communications plans and content.
Draft regular reports and provide analysis of audience segments, their sentiment, and advocacy.
Show personal leadership, proactively identifying opportunities to develop own skills and professional standards, supporting and encouraging reports to do the same.
Support the wider activity of the communication branch as priorities require, this could include but not limited to working on events for external stakeholders or social media campaigns.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience of working in an internal communications team and improving employee involvement.
Experience and evidence of creating varied employee communications and delivering organisational and cultural change.
High-level of literacy: proven ability to write creative copy for a wide range of audiences as well as accurately proofing a range of copy and communications materials
High level of digital competence in an internal communications setting, with knowledge of social media platforms, video production and intranets.
Experience of producing communications materials, working with in-house teams and with marketing, design and print suppliers.
Experience in developing and implementing engagement events.
Excellent time management skills, creating own work schedules, prioritising, preparing in advance and setting realistic timescales for own self and others.
The ability to visualise a sequence of actions needed to achieve a specific goal and how to estimate the resources required - keeps to tight deadlines in a pressured environment.
Show personal leadership, confident to give instructions and advise staff members in more senior positions.
Ability to effectively transfer key and complex information to adapting the style of communication as necessary and ensuring that this information is understood.
Ability to absorb, understand and quickly assimilate complex information and concepts and compare information from several different sources.
Developed skills in analysing various forms of data and insight.
Journalism, Marketing or Communications degree or equivalent
