At Sage, Content Designers play a vital role by creating succinct digital content that gives users the right information, at the right time and in the right format as they navigate our digital products.

As a team leader with a speciality in Content Design, you'll lead a small team of content designers within the wider Content Design and Experience Design function. Our content designers work closely with UX Designers and Solution Designers to produce content across the end to end user journey to ensure users can complete their goals. This could involve microcopy to help the users navigate our products or user assistance for further help and guidance.

The process of distilling complex, technical know-how into easily understood content is just one of your many passions. As well as language and authoring best practices, you'll need UX/technical writing skills and an understanding of user-centred design. Writing is one thing - but you'll know that doing it in a UX setting is entirely another. For you - and the hundreds of thousands of users who will benefit from your work - it's all about context.

- Deliver exceptional quality design projects covering product areas, whole products, or undefined spaces.

Content design skills

- Be a recognised expert in content design.
- Ability to define effective high-level content design standards, processes, practice, and strategies.
- Have an uncanny sense of design, acts as a fierce advocate for the user, and is committed to creating elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows.
- Expert knowledge of design thinking, designing with rationale and leader in a design critique.
- Expert knowledge of industry-standard design tools. Experience with MadCap Flare is desirable.

People skills

- Appropriate experience of people management and team leadership.
- Demonstrates exceptional people skills - communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Expert in both leveraging strengths, and developing people.
- Experience of successful performance management.
- Experience of recruitment.

- Appropriate experience of leading major design projects and setting strategic design direction.
- Demonstrates exceptional people skills - communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
- Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work.
- Develops processes for tackling design problems using known methods; anticipates problems; develops facilitation skills to engage cross-functional teams.
- Handle uncertainty and acute challenges with grace and calm.
- Are proactive, goal-oriented, and go after exciting challenges, rather than only being reactive.
