The role
We are currently undergoing a major IT investment and modernisation programme. Our Application Support team are playing a vital role in transforming how we deliver our IT services, and you could be at the heart of this project as you implement scheduled changes and manage incidents. Coming up with innovative solutions to technical problems, you will analyse and prioritise problems, putting users at the heart of every decision - including proposing design approaches and services that will better address their needs.
This is a unique time to join us, as while our application support is mainly managed by a third-party supplier, we are keen to enhance our own in-house capabilities. As such, you will both deliver application management yourself, and ensure a high quality of service is being provided by our supplier.
Your background
With a collaborative team-player approach and excellent communication skills, you will enjoy addressing and anticipating the needs of application users. As such, we will expect you to have experience of managing systems within a customer-focused support role, ideally in a mixed on-premise or cloud environment. With the confidence to manage databases such as SQL or Ingres, you'll have a good understanding of software development and of Microsoft O365.
