About the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team

We are a team of about 200 people across a whole range of DDaT specialisms, working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams.

We build and operate innovative tools and services, such as great.gov.uk, that provide world leading support to businesses in the UK and overseas. Our public-facing services are visited millions of times each year and the tools we develop for our staff, across the globe, are a key part of their daily working lives.

The roles sit within the DDaT Business Operations team which is a cross-cutting function that helps DDaT and DIT corporate services to enable teams to effectively deliver on crucial public-facing projects. The Business Operations team are integral to project delivery and help delivery teams in several ways including project and programme delivery best practice, governance, finance, commercial, recruitment, and capability.

Location

Post Covid-19 restrictions we would expect these roles to be working in a DIT hub location 2/3 days per week with the rest of the time working remotely. Our principal hub is currently London but we are expecting to grow our footprint in the North of England over the next 12 months and can accommodate these home locations. Your home base can be discussed further at interview.

Job description

The SEO Portfolio Analyst role will be accountable for Programme Management activities across a range of services and products that make up the DDaT Portfolio. You'll focus primarily on two key areas, Reporting and Governance/Assurance. You'll provide valuable insight, information and assistance that strengthens Portfolio. Ultimately, you'll promote optimal delivery of departmental strategic objectives through the analysis of a range of information sources. This will enable DIT's leadership team to make key prioritisation decisions, effectively allocate resources across the portfolio and provide evidenced assurance to the Chief Operating Officer.

The HEO Portfolio Analyst role will focus primarily on providing insight, information and support that strengthens portfolio governance and enables senior leadership to make prioritisation decisions and effectively allocate resources across the portfolio. Ultimately, analysts help ensure optimal delivery of departmental strategic objectives in line with government priorities through the analysis of a range of information sources and engagement with programme and project stakeholders, and converting this into informed insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation methods.
