JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title:Solution Designer (Infrastructure)Inside IR35 Location:Nottingham, UK Department/Practice: NA Job Purpose and primary objectives: Solution Design (Infrastructure) will be working on projects across Walgreens Boots Alliance developing existing infrastructure and creating new solutions in response to growing business requirements. Solution Designer will also be working and delivering solution on mission-critical IT systems in a large enterprise environment. Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team): 1. Provide technical consultancy services for cross-functional and cross-technology projects. This will include engaging internal IT teams and 3rd party vendors across Walgreens Boots Alliance. Designing end-to-end solutions to meet the requirements of the business and ensure these are successfully delivered 2. Work with Enterprise and Technical Architects to provide consistent technical designs and proposals in response to internal customer requests and project demands 3. Work with the rest of the delivery and operations teams to support problem resolution as a point of escalation for root cause analysis and remediation planning. Be able to lead activities and deliver challenging initiatives to business units across multiple countries 4. Utilise existing architecture framework, patterns and standards along with combining external, market and technology trends and expert knowledge to help develop and promote use of new ones 5. Be an active team member of the Solution Design team and support colleagues through collaborative peer reviews, standards compliance checks and due diligence 6. Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving, with a passion to be deeply technical 7. Have an acute eye for detail and demonstrate ability to assimilate diverse and complex technologies 8. Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation covering High-Level Design and Low-Level Design 9. Must be looking for a challenging workplace and capable of working in a high-output environment. Possess a high degree of self-management and motivation to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines with competing demands 10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to effectively work with various customers, from senior leadership to 3rd party vendors. The ability to rapidly understand the business, commercial and technical requirements to build solutions is vital 11. Experience with large scale, complex projects and programmes, requiring highly available, disaster recovery and business continuity compliant systems in an international context 12. Be able to reduce complex ideas to simple terms and express rationale for decision making to both a non-technical and technical audience 13. Possesses a broad knowledge of solution areas such as infrastructure, transformation and migration, security, business analysis, applications, integration, service management and understands how these interact to arrive to a solution ? Supervisory / Managerial responsibilities (please specify if the position will have persons reporting to it): ? Co-ordination and frequent progress updates with all required stakeholders ? Owning and participating technical calls to understanding Business requirements and providing solutions ? Other responsibilities - Budgets, targets, equipment etc (please specify): Will be responsible for analysing and providing solutions for IT/Business systems requirements Key Skills/Knowledge: ? Databases platforms - Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, MySQL, operating in clustered environments ? Experience in Unix and Linux - AIX and Red Hat Enterprise ? Microsoft Enterprise product suite - Windows Server, AD, ADFS, NPS, DHCP, DNS, Cluster services ? Server infrastructure - Virtualisation, storage, managed backup, hyper-converged platforms ? Private and public Cloud technologies - Particularly Azure Cloud migration and co-existence techniques. Full range of Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS products including Azure SQL, Cosmos DB and Azure App services ? SAP - SAP Architecture and SAP Basis across multiple SAP components and versions (NetWeaver & HANA), operating on UNIX and Windows platforms, both on-premise and Azure Cloud. Associated experience of high availability patterns, resilience, backup and recovery ? Network solutions - Cisco switching, routing, wireless, load balancers, VPN, MPLS WAN, SD-WAN, QoS, ACI, Azure ExpressRoute, ? Security solutions - Email, endpoint, web, firewalls, IPS, IDS, WAF, PKI, VPN, MFA and other identity management services ? Telephony and collaboration - Traditional PBX and VOIP platforms across an international setting. Microsoft Skype and Teams voice integration ? Client mobility - Mobile device and app management, security ? Office 365 - Full product stack and supporting technologies ? Experience of middleware technologies -Software AG, WebSphere, JBoss ? Experience in Citrix technologies ? Knowledge of formal methodologies and frameworks - TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, AGILE ? Working knowledge of data protection and compliance standards of PCI-DSS and GDPR ? Containerisation, microservices and orchestration technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, CloudBot Experience required: - 15+ Years of IT experience and ability to manage complex business requirement and provide technical solutions - Deep understanding and functional experience in listed Key Skill sets - Experience in Cloud technologies especially Azure - Working in complex environments and experience of conflict resolution. Duration of the Assignment: Medium Term (6 months)
