Job Title: System Design Engineer, ElectricalLocation: Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent. UK and International travelSalary: £40,000 per annum + BenefitsJob Type: Full Time, PermanentBenefits: Company Pension & Healthcare, and 28 days holiday including bank holidays (increasing with length of service)They design, manufacture and sell hybrid energy management and control systems into the marine, off grid, vehicle and industrial markets and are the UK distributor for a number of well-known brands in the power industry. The role:To support these activities they are looking for System Design Engineer who will work on the following:Systems design, and more detailed electrical designs, mainly for the marine industryProject management, including attending meetings, and carrying out site visitsWorking on quotations and proposals, either leading, or as part of a groupDealing with suppliers, clients, and end usersCommissioning systems in the UK, and sometimes internationallyMaintaining professionalism and representing the company in a positive mannerSome work will be modifications to existing systems, but the majority will be clean sheet designs so the work will be varied, interesting and challenging.You will report to the Engineering Manager and work as part of a small team of electrical, mechanical and control engineers. They're looking for a conscientious, organised individual capable of structuring their work schedule effectively and delivering projects on time and to brief.About youApplicants should be skilled with AutoCAD LT software as a minimum, but experience with other electrical packages would be a good addition. Familiarity with at least some of the following standards would be expected:IEC 61439BS 7671Any marine classification standards (DNV GL, RINA, Lloyds etc.)You'll be expected to have a hands on approach when necessary, supporting panel builders and test engineers to troubleshoot systems both in their premises, and in the field if required.Academic background could be an electrical or related engineering degree, or a lower qualification with evidence of experience and further training.
