We are looking for an additional Software Developer to join our clients Plymouth based team. You will initially be assisting with integrating new telecoms connections and data providers to our client's platform via API development.Experience and knowledge of PHP, good general knowledge of the LAMP or LEMP stack, and an interest in any of Go, NodeJS, AWS or similar would be a bonus, however, PHP is the main language required.You will be working with the existing development team to design and implement front-end and back-end systems for sending communications and messages. You will also be involved in developing client-facing control panels and plugins, including API Integration, with a wide range of third-party systems and internal tools for configuring and monitoring the software platform.You will be able to demonstrate creativity, problem-solving abilities, reliability and timely execution.The salary is dependent on experience and there are established pension and holiday schemes in place which particularly reward long service.There is also an opportunity to attend programming conferences and courses throughout the year to further your skills and knowledge, although this is mainly remote at the moment due to the pandemic. Required ExperienceGood working knowledge of PHP and its best practices.Good general knowledge of the LAMP/LEMP stack and front-end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS.Familiarity with one or more SQL, NoSQL and NewSQL databases.Use of Version Control software, such as Git or Subversion.Beneficial/Bonus ExperienceExperience with PHP and/or MVC frameworks, i.e., Zend Framework and Laravel (or similar).Proficiency in other programming languages such as Go, NodeJS and Python.Experience with package management tools: Composer, NPM, Yarn.Experience with front-end tools: Bootstrap, jQuery, Less/Sass.Experience with using Amazon AWS or similar cloud platforms.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and associated techniques.This is an outstanding opportunity to work with an excellent team of developers on a marketing leading product and a chance to develop your skills further in a secure and stable private sector business.
