The client is an iconic, multinational British retailer.SummaryThis is a great opportunity to take a pivotal role in the Clothing and Home FP&A team. The role will work closely with all areas of the Business, supporting and influencing decision making at the highest level.Leading the FP&A agenda for C+H, this role does much more than managing the planning cycle, it is to guide the business unit in these uncertain times, providing insight and analysis to inform the performance and transformation of the Clothing and Home Business Unit.Key accountabilitiesLeadershipLead and manage the team to deliver a board range to responsibilitiesBe a sounding board and critical friend to the Finance BP's and wider Finance teamChampion change and continuous improvement in ways of working and processesPlanningLead the FP&A team to deliver the Clothing and Home planning cycles (Budget, in year forecasts and 3 Year Plans) for the entire C+H P&L, from Sales to Operating Profit, setting the timelines, targets and deliverablesProvide detailed and insightful analysis into building blocks of the forecasts, informing risks and opportunities and dependencies for delivery.Business partner with Finance Business Partners, and Group Finance, to deliver challenging and relevant targets for the Clothing and Home Business UnitReportingPreparation of well-considered and insightful commentary on performance for the Head of Finance, Finance Director & Managing Director.Ensure the completion of the C+H weekly and monthly reporting is timely and accurateSupport Investor Relations in understanding the drivers of historical performance, across financial and non-financial metrics; and forward-looking guidanceWork closely with Investor Relations to provide insightful analysis on drivers of historical performance along with guidance on future targetsDecision Support AnalysisProvide ad-hoc analysis on all elements of the C+H performance, including LFLs, volumes, margins, promotion and costs.Take a helicopter view of longer term performance to help form the C+H strategy and the longer-term growth plansHaving an inquisitive mind, driving new insight to support action in C+H, working closely with the LT, FBPs and Group FP&A.Providing insightful and considered ad-hoc analysis on all areas of performance for presentation to the Leadership team and BoardControlWorking with the BSC and other team members to ensure correct and accurate margin and stock reportingEnsuring accurate cashflow forecasting and working capital managementKey skillsRetail experience requiredQualified accountant (ACA/ CIMA)Previous experience in FP&AInquisitive and curious mindsetStrong analytical capabilities, comfortable working with and accurately manipulating data to provide accurate and insightful reportingEffective communication skills both written and verbalAbility to maintain and further enhance controls and process and ability to implement changeTeam player but also happy to work independently on own initiative
