About what we do:
At the Insolvency Service, we deliver crucial support to people in financial distress while tackling financial wrongdoing. We also create the frameworks that help people deal with insolvency and give confidence to businesses and investors alike when it comes to commercial risk-taking. As part of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, we work closely with other government agencies and operate from 22 locations around the UK.
Joining us is a chance to support ordinary people and businesses across the country while taking on exciting challenges and developing a varied, rewarding career.
About the role
You'll play a central role in shaping the governance of Digital Technology Services (DTS) within the Insolvency Service. DTS delivers all of our IT services, and we use a Service Integration and Management (SIAM) model to manage our multiple IT service providers.
Within the Service Governance Team, you'll own our relationship with SIAM service providers, making sure contractual obligations are met and that the performance of the SIAM model is continually reviewed and improved. As part of your responsibilities, you'll coordinate with other DTS functions and govern our portfolio with the Service Architecture team.
You'll also play an active role in making sure changes to the SIAM model meet our wider strategic objectives. Leadership is a vital part of your responsibilities, as you'll manage a team of five Service Delivery Managers and invest in their ongoing development.
About our requirements
It's essential that you have experience in leading teams, managing demanding projects and delivering complex IT services in a challenging environment. You'll also hold an ITIL Foundation qualification and be able to collaborate with suppliers, partners and end-users at all levels. Experience working with a SIAM model is desirable.
You'll also take a strategic, proactive approach to your work and have a proven ability to negotiate at a senior level. Excellent communication skills and creative problem-solving skills are also essential.
About our benefits
As a member of the Civil Service, you'll have access to a huge range of professional opportunities along with a variety of working arrangements and extensive development programmes. In terms of other benefits, you'll be able to take advantage of generous annual leave, a Civil Service pension, childcare support and an employee assistance programme.
